Super Curse

E-mail Print PDF

Arizona brings into the Super Bowl their long-lived Curse of Pottsville, while Pittsburgh has only a Jinx placed on it by President Obama.  Neither team lost to Tampa Bay in 2008, so theTampa Bay Curse should not be a factor.

Arizona's long-running Curse of Pottsville, active since 1925, figures to play prominantly in this game.  The Cardinals currently hold the NFL record for the longest championship drought, and have not yet returned the 1925 title to the town of Pottsville, which-- appropriately enough, is only about 250 miles from Pittsburgh, home of the Steelers.

The last time a major curse played a significant role in a Super Bowl was in 2006, when the Seahawks fell victim to the Seattle Curse by way of lopsided and questionable officiating.  Fittingly, the 2006 benefactors of Seattle's curse were none other than the Pittsburgh Steelers.

Pittburgh seems to have a minor jinx upon them due to their 2006 victory, and this was only reinforced by the endorsement of President Obama.

However, neither of these is expected to be strong enough a power to overcome the long-running Curse of Pottsville.  That's why TeamCurse.com's fates advisors offer the following for the gamblers out there:
